Cut 851 calories from Thanksgiving dinner (without sacrificing taste!)
partner
I adore Thanksgiving, but the holiday quickly loses its luster
when I start thinking about all the extra calories I’m consuming by
eating my favorite foods.
Luckily, EatingWell gave
Thanksgiving dinner a healthy makeover that keeps calories (and
my diet) in check. Without changing the classic dishes we all
expect at Thanksgiving dinner, we shaved off 851 calories from the
entire meal. Best of all, the tricks and techniques used to make
these 5 recipes lighter don’t sacrifice taste! Make these healthy
dishes with your family and friends this year—and save some
calories for the next big holiday.

I wouldn't agree more w/ the comment (posted by habanero)/ yeah enjoy food while you can - just for one day, stuff yourself then worry about burning off the calories the following day/week!! oh then do the same for christmas : )

This is why women are so screwed up, we take the one day of friends, family, and food and ruin by being calorie cops. If you are that worried about calories then workout an extra 15 min. each day or skip the snacks for a week. Thanksgiving comes once a year. ENJOY IT!!!!

Do people really put sausage in stuffing? I've never heard of that. My mom used her mom's recipe which just toasted bread, all torn up and thrown in a bowl with chopped onion, celery, salt, pepper, and I think butter. I've never made it myself, so there might be another ingredient. My husband's family makes oyster stuffing.
I would think just keeping the sausage out would make the stuffing less fatty.

i found out the other day that if you buy a frozen turkey does not matter how you cook it is loaded with salt because to keep it frozen they have to put lots of salt they recommend that 3 hours after you eat the turkey to drink a protein shake so you don't let all that food turn into fat ,that is for people that think healthy i personally plan to eat whatever is once a year enjoy
