For the Baker: Odd-Size Measuring Cups and Measuring Spoons

A couple of years ago, my mother was searching for a set of measuring cups that included a 3/4 cup. I continued the search on her behalf every time I looked at kitchen supplies, but I kept coming up empty-handed. It seemed no one had ever thought to make such a thing.

That is, until I wandered into Williams-Sonoma and asked if they sold any such sets. "Actually, we sell an entire set off odd-size measuring cups and measuring spoons," the salesman said, pointing me toward a hefty set of stainless steel All-Clad measuring cups and measuring spoons. The set included every important size that's normally excluded from measuring spoon and cup sets: 2 teaspoons, 1-1/2 tablespoons, and 2 tablespoons, 2/3 cup, 3/4 cup, and 1-1/2 cups.

The current All Clad brand of odd sized measuring cups are not as nice as the ones I bought a few years ago. I was looking to buy the ones like I have for my mother for a gift and am not going to now as the seemlessness between the handle and the cup is not part of the current design. :-(
