I offered to make something like this for my husband's B-day (today). He doesn't eat carbs. We are having a regular cake instead-- he just won't have any.

This is pretty gross in my opinion, if someone were to try and give me some, I would smother them in their sleep....bleh....

Um, why is this gross? I assume people are okay eating meatloaf and mashed potatoes when they're just piled on a plate. I also assume that this tastes exactly the same. So why is it gross?

Meatloaf is good, and mashed potatoes are good. So, what's the problem? To me the biggest problem is that it seems the "taters" would get cold and I'm just not a huge fan of cold taters. Also, I'm thinking a nice brown gravy would be a better mix for both the taters AND the meat. Hmmmm, I may end up trying this if I can figure out a way to serve it warm.

It's not really gross if you think about it. It's NOT cake! Just because it looks like a cake doesn't mean it's sweet. It's still meatloaf. I actually thought it was really creative. I was really curious about the frosting and when I read that it was mashed potatoes I definitely relaxed a little.

    Looks good to me!

It looks gross because the meat looks raw and the ketchup looks like blood. So morbid thoughts come to mind when looking at it... And just the thought of eating something like that is very, very, very disgusting! I love meatloaf and mash but would never eat it shaped like a cake...GROSS!!
