For what it's worth, Emily over at Slashfood shares my general dismay for the low-carb diet-y noodle that looks disturbingly like a bunch of tapeworms preserved in formaldehyde. Actually, Esteban suggested we buy a package of them about three years ago, but there they sat in our refrigerator, looking all wormy, for months and months, and then we realized that the idea of eating the noodles was creepy enough, so we'd never be able to deal with the idea of eating tapeworm noodles that had possibly gone over and tossed them. I presume that they taste better than actual tapeworms, but that ringing endorsement probably won't get my picture on the back of a package of shirataki noodles any time soon, huh?
