Leftover Breakfasts--or Not

user

I'm in solidarity with the husband who eats cold pizza for breakfast!  It makes a great change from cold cereal with fruit, and it takes care of leftovers.  (I'm doubly blessed with thrift as an 11th-generation Yankee and a Depression baby.)  Cold quiche is equally a blessing--eggs, cheese, cream, what's not to like?  Back in the days when I camped with my Girl Scouts, our breakfast specialty was BLT's, and I never told them that it was actually a pretty nutritious meal, using whole-wheat bread toasted on a griddle.  It got us off to a good start and they felt they'd had a special treat, sort of like Backwards Day.
