O-N-E-D-E-R-F-U-L-L/ O-N-E I-N A M-I-L-L-I-O-N ect... are only a few words I can use to describe how great ONE Sunset is! ONE Sunset is a restaurant located on, you guessed it, the trendy Sunset Boulevard! They are operated by the ONE Group, which also operates many other hip and modern restaurants and lounges. Taking their knowledge learned from their affiliated company the Modern Group, a UK based hospitality corporation(http://www.theonerestaurants.com/), the ONE Group is truly making its mark on the nightlife biz from Los Angeles to New York , with a couple punches in Miami and Sin City . I attended ONE Sunset in celebration of my Grandmas 73rd birthday this weekend, and we had a ball of a time (Yes, I felt like I was Bell at the ball, minus the grand yellow dress…and the ugly beast; instead I rocked a red mini bandage dress and black pumps…with my beautiful family in attendance… but back to the story). As I made my way into the restaurant I was stunned by how beautifully decked out the place was! I mean WOW! The hosts were very pleasant as they escorted us through the restaurant to our table. The first thing I noticed as I entered, were the paintings on the wall and the bar, both very unique and exceptional. The paintings really stood out and had so much depth. I really liked one of them because the girl looked like me, she was wearing a red dress, she had white skin, and dark long black hair…I was so happy to see that I inspired some artist out there unintentionally. Now to the bar, it was adorned with these long glossy tree branches and the drinks were illuminating along the glass mirrored wall. As the night progressed and began to darken, I noticed that the dim lighting was absolutely perfect (Yes ladies, that is the lighting that makes you look good when you go on a date. It helps mask the cakey make-up you used to try to cover up those blemishes). The lighting was like the colors of a sunset (what a coincidence) with a midnight shade mixed in. The lighting really complemented the black tables and white seats, along with the white orchids that were lit and encapsulated in their vases (it was so mysterious, I felt like I was a part of Old Hollywood Glamour). But I do not want to only rave about the perfect setting; the food was literally to die for!!! Thanks to Executive Chef Jason Marcus, I was in heaven as I consumed the Mizo-Glazed Salmon Skewers with a side of vegetables (Yum!). Jason Marcus has literally seemed to master the idea of fusion food. He has everything on the menu from Asian inspired dishes, to a dash of Latin flavor, and just strait down southern comfort! There is food for every type of taste bud! Every bite I took out of my salmon, I felt it literally melt in my mouth. All of this could also not be possible without the help of our fabulous waiter, John, who was very pleasant, excited, and knowledgeable of all that ONE Sunset had to offer on its menu. He was very helpful in making sure that my mom had the best white wine in the house… and by the looks of how my mom walked out of the restaurant (obviously not a regular drinker), that wine really hit the spot, if you know what I mean! This restaurant is amazing and I highly recommend it to everyone! I give it more stars than any other food critic has given it (that’s how much I loved it)! It is a spacious restaurant with different rooms and lounges, which cater to all needs. It is a really great place for private events and parties. I mean ask anyone from this seasons Dancing with the Stars; this is were they celebrated after the final of the show! I mean who would blame them, this is an award winning location! Or even if you are doing something simple and intimate like a birthday, a date, an anniversary, a night out on the town with some of your girlfriends’, or a boys night; this place is truly a hot spot. So treat yourself or someone you love like VIP for a night and bring them to ONE Sunset
