Ladies, it's almost 2009 and we know who we are now, don't
we? Or shouldn't we? Nowadays, we're
simultaneously wondering what to cook for dinner while checking
client emails on the fly and picking up the kids, groceries,
dry-cleaning, dogs or whatever on the way home. Whether
you're a single lady building a career while trying to
"date" or a stay-at-home mom with multiple academic
degrees on the shelf or a still-fabulous grandmother who completely
redefines the term, I guarantee that we are all united by one
thing: we deserve good wine!
I have worked in the wine business for over a decade now, and that experience has proven to me that a good glass (or two!) of wine is healthy for the heart in both senses of the term. Wine is about sharing - sharing our hearts, our homes and our hopes while also sharing that bottle. As a sommelier, I am biased in favor of wine over other alcoholic drinks, largely because of the many heart-friendly health benefits that wine offers. It's also much more food-friendly than cocktails or beer, so uncork a bottle of something yummy tonight while juggling the baby or the puppy or the PDA. Our goal here at Girl Meets Grape has always been to make wine something that is an everyday joy - from a casual bottle over pizza on a Tuesday to a spectacular Champagne drunk while celebrating life's milestones, we want you to drink wine joyfully. Welcome to Shine and wine, the new online home of Girl Meets Grape. We look forward to sharing our favorite expert wine picks, some easy-to-understand wine information that will have you feeling like a pro in no time and lots of great suggestions for menu pairings that will enhance meals both at home and in restaurants. Did you open a tasty bottle of something lately? We love the way Shine makes sharing easy, so weigh in on what YOU like and contribute to our community of winelovers. What time is it? Somewhere, in this great modern digital universe, it's always time to drink wine. :)

Report AbuseTasted some wine a couple years ago at a fundraiser (taste of l.a.) for Break the Cycle... loved a chardonnay that was clean and crisp like a green apple... any idea what you were serving that night? would absolutely love to get my hands on some!
