As much as I try this season, it looks like flu is hitting my household (which thankfully is only my husband and myself). This is the first time that we have had to deal with the flu as we both normally don't get sick. The last time I had the flu of any kind was back around 2003 with the stomach flu. Anyway, I have no idea what some good comfort foods (outside of chicken noodle soup) would be. So any ideas and recipes would be greatly appreciated.

Report AbuseHi Katie,
My Mom always made a dish of rice pudding for anyone not feeling well.
I've continued her tradition and even love it for myself when nothing else tastes good. Hope you're all feeling well now. joyce

Report AbuseHey Katie, Sorry to hear about the household illness, in our home.. its unfortunatly carbs... cream of wheat, warm bagels. ( this helps with the nausea, and acid buildup) some cream soups besides the homemade chicken soup, jello (sugar free for those who need it) peppermint teas, (calms the tummy again) No packaged meats like bologna, but cooked chiken breast, turkey or a roast. sliced served with favorite veggie(no corn) and applesauce.. hope this helps.. we have some picky eaters in my house... so it's smorgasborg time this season. Get well soon oh drink lots of fluids!!
