User post: My Neighborhood Joint: Waterfront Ale House - New York, NY

I should start by saying that I'm one of the most finicky
eaters I know. I eat every combination of chicken you could imagine
and consider myself a connoisseur of sorts. I think chicken is best
paired with honey mustard, but finding honey mustard that meets my
standards is a hard task. After passing Waterfront for years, I
finally stumbled in one day. To my surprise this place has some of
the best food in the city (in my opinion at least). I start with
fresh popped popcorn that I can scoop out of the machine myself
(for free). I order the "Tuscan Chicken Club" (grilled
chicken, fresh mozzarella, field greens, tomato and balsamic on
warm focaccia bread) every time without fail. I opt out of the
tomato and balsamic and get the honey mustard on the side (it's
amazing). My boyfriend, the more adventurous type, gets the
"Pulled Pig Sandwich" (double smoked pork, hand shredded
& smothered in barbecue sauce), which he raves about. For an
extra $.75 we each get the amazing waffle fries on the side. Ask
for them extra crispy...they're incredible.
And...there's nothing
better than some good ole' leftovers...
Other items on the menu that are different than your typical pub
food:
-
Venison & Black Bean
Chili with tequila cilantro sour cream & warm tortilla
chips
-
Award Winning Barbecue Spare Ribs served with
sweet potato fries & creamy mustard sauce
Also, make sure to try the homemade hot sauce and bbq
sauce!
Mmmm hungry yet? Check it out and let me know what you think!
