User post: Nanny's Apple Pie

user

This is a Queenan/Holloway family favorite.

Take 6 or 7 tart apples (Note: if your apples are not tart, add lemon juice) 3/4 cup Sugar 2 Tablespoons Flour 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon Dash of nutmeg and salt 2 Tablespoons of butter
pie pastry

Preheat oven to 450 degrees Peel apples and slice 1/4 inch thick (6 cups sliced apples = 1 pie). Combine sugar, flour, spices, and salt. Gently add your sliced apples and mix. Fill your prepared pie crust with the apple mixture and dot with butter before adding the top crust. Assemble the top crust to your pie and pierce with a fork to add vent holes around the top. Bake in hot oven 55 to 60 minutes.
Enjoy! :-)
