Wine Find: NV Zardetto Prosecco Brut, Veneto, Italy ($13)

zardetto
Prosecco may be poor man's Champagne, but if you love a budget-friendly bubbly, the Zardetto is your bottle. Made from the Prosecco grape, it's fresh, fragrant, crisp, and delicious before dinner or in cocktails (stay tuned tomorrow for a rockin recipe!)

Find it: This wine is nationally distributed and easily available. Call your wine store to see if they have it or

I’ve had this wine! Rate it 1-5 stars and hit the comments with your notes.

Hot Dish: Casino Imperial

Prosecco is the base wine for the Bellini (it's not bad in a Kir Royale either), but you can use it to mix up some other smokin' cocktails, like this one from Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli, bar manager for Craigie on Main in Cambridge, Mass., where they're really serious about libations.

Casino Imperial
Glass: Champagne Flute

Fill Champagne flute with sparkling wine
Add Herbsaint-soaked sugar cube
Float ¾ oz. LeCompte 5 yr Calvados
Finish with a lemon twist

I tried this drink! Rate it.

Vinoculture: Prosecco in a Can...Starring Paris Hilton

phprosecco
File this one under "puh-leeze": A couple of years ago, Rich Prosecco hired Paris Hilton as its spokesbubblehead. Wearing nothing but gold paint in the ads, Paris hawked the canned Prosecco (which, we should add, isn't actually from Italy) to pretty much everyone's dismay.

What say you? Should Paris just keep her clothes on already, or would you try it...just because?

Go Vino: Valdobbiadene

Old. by senza_nick.

Italy's Valdobbiadene region is the main home to Prosecco (and don't forget how to spell "Valdobbiadene," because there just might be a pop quiz later). We found some other photos on flickr that show the region's green lushness and hills better, but this one just tugs at you, doesn't it?

Rate this photo 1-5 stars and leave a comment if you've been to Valdobbiadene.

Freebie Friday: Toasted Head Moleskine Notebook

moleskine
Ok, thumbs off the Smartphone: time to look really smart  with today's Freebie Friday giveaway, a Moleskine notebook with the Toasted Head winery logo on the front. Never heard of Moleskine? It's a brand, but also sort of a cult. (Read more on Stuff White People Like.) These days you might find wine geeks Twittering instead of hand-writing their tasting notes, but the Moleskine is the genuine article if you want to look super creative.

Enter to win the notebook--just leave a comment on the site and tell us if you're nerdy enough to take wine notes--and how you usually do it.

Read the contest rules (short version: one entry per person, must be 21 or older and have a U.S. mailing address).

Congratulations to Gabriel of Winfield, Kansas, winner of the ChillinJoy!
