User post: School Lunches from Around the World

Take a tour of school menus from across the globe.

American school lunches, like airline food, are generally not considered haute cuisine. From fish sticks to corn dogs, our schools serve up mediocre mid-afternoon meals at best. But how do our academic menus measure up with the rest of the world?

The Asian ones appealed to me most, Japan in particular.

There was a decided lack of green among the US ones, the one with organic milk and mixed veggies seemed to be the best.

One of the things I like about homeschooling is that we eat a wide variety of food for lunch, looking for recipes from all over the world. My kids will try anything! But we still have our mac and cheese days.

They seem to get a lot of food in the French lunches. Especially a lot of fries. Can't be too healthy. But then again, they get an artichoke, haha.

Yeah, I'm not really sure if the artichoke nullifies the huge mound of fries!

The Chinese, Japanese, and Korean school lunches all looked pretty good. I do have to applaud the US school lunch that looked like it was fish with steamed vegetables, and organic milk or whatever was in that container. That one looked the best out of all the school lunches that were from the US.

I think what I hate most about Shine is that people post blogs with titles that make you think there's a relating article, when in fact there's a link to an outside website.

I completely agree with littlemiss995. Especially the posts from total beauty or whatever that just give links! Ugh!
