- Tips for Making Pancakes and Flap Jacks Bw pancakes
- Thoroughly mix dry ingredients together in one bowl and wet ingredients in another before combining together.
- Do not over mix, a few lumps are good.
- Your griddle or pan should be preheated on high and then reset to medium heat before adding your batter.
- Let the batter rest 15 minutes before cooking.
- If you don't have a griddle, use a heavy cast iron or nonstick skillet over medium heat. Making a test pancake is the best way to ensure you have it at the right temperature.
- If you are going to grease your skillet or griddle do so after you have preheated it.
- Use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to make medium sized and a tablespoon for silver dollar flapjacks or pancakes.
- Bubbles on top and light browning around the edges
indicate the right time to flip.
- If they seem a bit wobbly allow them to cook a little more on the first side.
- Left Over Batter from Our Buttermilk Flapjack Mix has great results when refrigerated for up to 10 days in an airtight container.
