30 Quintessential Feel-Good Fall Activities
user
- hauling the a/c units out of the windows
- eating an apple cider donut
- writing longhand
- making the bed with flannel sheets
- annual viewing of Anne of Green Gables (preferably while
knitting, crocheting, or embroidering)
- swapping iced coffee for hot
- walking through the woods (even if it’s a wooded grove at your
local park)
- visiting a pumpkin patch
- wearing plaid
- stocking up on pens, pencils, and notebooks
- making apple sauce
- reading a classic
- stowing the summer clothes and pulling out your woolens (isn’t
that the funniest word?)
- hosting a soup swap
- spending an afternoon date at a museum with yourself, a friend,
or a paramour
- drinking chai, preferably on a sunny outdoor bench
- raking

bringing herbs inside to the windowsill

roasting a chicken on Sunday evening
- tramping through fallen leaves (walking doesn’t count; you must
tramp)
- picking apples
- learning something new: a language, a craft technique
- attending a scholarly lecture (thankfully, there will not be a
quiz on this)
- putting the comforter back on the bed
- taking a moonlit walk
- donating books to the library
- volunteering to walk dogs at a shelter
- building fires on cool evenings
- taking yourself out for a glass of red wine
- feeling that your home is a cozy respite from the chilly
outside world

using cinnamon for nearly everything. baking apples (or baking in general). halloween. thanksgiving. breaking out my crockpot. breathing in the fall air (it has its own distinct smell). scarves. boyfriend sweatshirts. uggs.

Opening up the windows until it gets too cold and getting the summer stink out of the house... (I live in Texas so opening windows in the Summer is impossible unless you want to bake to death)...

Oohhh...baking pumpkin bread plus I got a cute bread mold on sale last January that has been hiding in my cupboard just waiting for autumn!!! Plus this weekend, I'll haul out some of my "autumn decor stuff" like a table runner and some ceramic pumpkins. I actually prefer decorating for autumn to christmas decorations. I also decorate my mantel and replace the summer blue & white candles with orange, brown, gold and russet. I particularly loved Sarah's comment about watching Anne of Green Gables while knitting, crocheting or embroidering. I'll have to tell my older daughter--she's an "Anne addict". Happy autumn everyone!!!

making everything with pumpkin: pumpkin muffins, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pancakes, etc..... i get a little crazy with it sometimes...

Baking with pumpkin, cranberries, and apples. Wearing warm boots. Making homemade chili. Building fires. Carving pumpkins. Watching old movies. Staying in. Bringing out the quilts. Fall decor. Making 'hand turkeys' with the kids. I love Autumn!

7 drinking (more) hot cocoa
