By now, we know that drinking green tea is undoubtedly good for our bodies. The antioxidant and free-radical scavenging properties of green tea have made it a must-have for the health conscious and numerous studies highlight the potential benefits of green tea including cancer prevention and weight loss.

But green tea isn’t just a delicious and healthful drink; it can also be used as an at-home health and beauty remedy. Read on to find out The Things You Don't Know About Green Tea.

1. It’s great for teeth: Green tea has fluoride in it, making it a superstar for keeping gums and teeth healthy. Green tea can even be used as a mouthwash to maintain breath.

2. It’s a room deodorizer: Green tea leaves have traditionally been used to naturally absorb odors in a room. Place tea leaves in a bowl to help absorb unpleasant odors or leave some in the fridge in place of baking soda.

3. It’s good for the bones: Naturally high in minerals, green tea aids in strong bone density, which is important for maintaining good posture.

4. It can soothe skin: Spent a little too much time in the sun? Use the naturally calming properties of green tea to soothe sunburned skin. Place green tea in a spray bottle and mist on sunburned areas for all-natural relief. Because it has anti-bacterial qualities, green tea can also be used as an antiseptic to spray on skin blemishes or irritations.

5. It’s good for the feet: Soaking tired feet in green tea can prevent unpleasant fungal infections.

    "1. It’s great for teeth"

Fluoride just replaces the iodide in teeth and bones. The only beneficial element from the halides group (bromide, fluoride, chloride and iodide) is iodide. Fluoride can make bones brittle, can cause skeletal fluorosis, and can permanently yellow your teeth if you're exposed to it when you're little.

Fluoride is a by-product of aluminum manufacture. It's cheaper to put it in our drinking water than to store it as a hazardous material. The only reason green and black tea have it is because they absorb it from the soil.

Iodide is what should be in our water, not fluoride. Fluoride was first used by Hitler in the 1930's in concentration camps. Do you really think it was so the prisoners' teeth would be cavity free? The U.S didn't start using fluoride in water until 1945.

So drink green tea for your health, but use the same precautions you use with fish and mercury.

Green tea is wonderful. It is also used in skin care. Green tea mixed with other herbs makes great skin toner to restore ph balance. Addtionally you can mix the green tea with the right herbs for your skin type.

My Asian gf thinks I need green tea and sushi and whatever other Eastern Culture stuff that drives us westerners crazy with our poppy fads.

I'm sure there's plenty of ways our other daily foods and resources can do this stuff, and, personally, I have a feeling that I can clean my do most, if not all, of this with milk.

(Dunno about air freshners... And maybe it isn't good to slosh milk around my teeth, but maybe it ain't so bad. Who knows. It isn't so bad though cuz I got a toothbrush. And I take the garbage out when it gets full. No worries.)
