I don't diet.
Well, I've tried. SouthBeach lasted 4 days. No candy lasted a week. No red meat, well, I was doing great for three weeks til I had a mini burger the other night while out with my girlfriends. So, it's safe to say that dieting and I have fooled around a couple of times. But we've never gone all the way. Until now.
The thing is, I don't need to diet. I look fine, really. I'm healthy. But since I started shelling out $122 a month for a membership at Equinox, I decided that there is really no point in killing myself physically and financially if I'm not going to get results. In short, I shouldn't be going to the gym just so I am justified in eating crap all day.
After talking to a guy friend of mine who has been doing a crazy Gluten-free/sugar-free thing for 11 days, and upon hearing that he has dropped six points of body fat since beginning such a regime, I decided: Okay, fine. I'm doing it.
I'm not going crazy here. I'm just not eating bread. Or crackers. Or cookies. Mmmm...cookies. (Insert stomach grumbles here.) I am "happily" feasting on peanut butter, salsa, corn tortillas, guacamole, hummus, fruit, veggies, small amounts of rice, chicken, and dark chocolate. Oh and tea. Lots of tea. Without sugar.
It's not so much the parameters of the dieting that's killing me. It's the fact that no matter how much of these diet-approved foods I eat, I can't seem to not be hungry! I mean how much peanut butter do I have to eat? The whole jar?
So, I'm a bit new to this whole deprivation thing. Does anyone have any advice on how to stick with a diet plan?
I don't want to starve myself. I don't really even want to lose weight.
I just want to actually look like I go to the gym. :)
