    • Get in some activity first thing in the morning.
    • Have some mint tea.
    • Don't punish yourself by skipping meals.
    • Break to stretch at your desk.
    • Make a meal plan for the rest of the week.
    • Get out of the house with your kids, pet, partner -- or everyone who is around.

Get in some activity first thing in the morning.

This doesn't mean you have to hammer out a five-miler on the treadmill or spend an hour trying to jump rope. But do get your day started with a brisk walk, 20 minutes of yoga, or some exercise you are familiar with that will help your body feel more in control, more awake, and ready to take good care of yourself the rest of the day.

Whether you ate too many servings of scalloped potatoes, spent too much time sitting on the couch, or can't stop sneaking cream eggs from your kid's basket, an Easter weekend can easily leave you feeling not so joyous on Monday morning.

Rather than focusing on how many foil wrappers are filling your trash can or that you can no longer button your jeans, we've put together a one-day plan that won't require any resolutions, equipment, or complete overhauls to get you back to a good place. Take better care of your body and your mind today, with these 8 gentle, simple tips for overcoming holiday overindulgence.

I did not overindulge this weekend since i worked right through the holiday. But I LOVE the tip on throwing it out.

That's the name of my game when it comes to the kitchen. If I end up with junk in the house (from my husband or inlaws or company or my baking co-worker whose baked goods-thank god-taste really bad) I chuck it.

Throw them out before they throw you off. (which goes back to comments I've made in the past regarding "who is all this food for anyway?" since 8-0% of all the food in the universe is food we're not supposed to be eating anyway. ugh.)

Oh, I went completely overboard. Last night I didn't want to look at another piece of food. This piece helps with that guilty "I can't believe I ate the whole thing" feeling.

No, I didnt. I am one of those, as my friends say weird people

who do not like candy, just dont like sugar. I went out to dinner

with friends Saturday and knew I wanted cheesecake for desert, so

took most of my dinner home, which my husband will eat for lunch.

Throw out my cadbury eggs??? No way! :) I look forward to them every year. Plus, chocolate tastes even better while pregnant - and that I am! The rest is really good advice though...

I only indulged a little, but my system is so sensitive that I retained three and a half pounds of fluid. Couldn't do my whole workout Monday and am still not up to speed. Boo Hoo. I did all the stuff recommended already. It really is harder to recover as you get older.
