A few months ago I asked the question on Shine if fat people repulse you. Loads of you answered, I set up a website dedicated to giving the answers and opinions, www.DoFatPeopleRepulseYou.com and the results were really shocking.
The majority of people who are not overweight and that answered the question, "Do fat people repulse you?" are repulsed by fat people. Shocking, but something that I have known all of my overweight adult life.
Have you ever walked back the aisle of an airplane, searching for your seat number, only to see a really overweight person sitting in the aisle seat and you have the middle seat? It is not pleasant, especially if you are heavy yourself. This has happened to me, though I have to admit I haven't been repulsed, just disappointed that anyone was in the seat. It meant less space for me.
Since there are so many people who keep emailing me their opinions on the matter, I thought I would bring it up on Shine again. Dialogue is great and there have been many positive emails from people who are overweight who said they never really understood why they were looked at differently, but with reading some of the answers they now have an insight that they haven't thought of before.
So weigh in people. Do fat people repulse you?
