Do you cook? Does your marriage partner cook for you? Girlfriend? Boyfriend? Did I cover everybody? Oh, you hired somebody to cook for you? Well it’s time to spice up your cooking and meals with the herbs and spices which are great  for anti inflammatory and reducing pain and swelling in your joints.

These are some of the best spices you can add to your food diet(and they come in supplement form too),  and I mean the best, are: ginger, turmeric, rosemary, and cinnamon. Part of the reasons spices and herbs have this positive effect on the joints is they are rich in antioxidants, bioflavnoids, and enzymes.

I think we forget that the food and spices we eat can be used as medicine. Way, way back in history the “father” of medicine Hippocrates said “Let Food Be Thy Medicine.”  Let food be your medicine in supporting your health.

ginger a great digestive tonic and anti inflammatory used in asian cooking or add it to your stir fry
turmeric the latest anti inflammatory, anti oxidant trend used mainly in curry and mustards
rosemary great anti oxidant delicious on chicken and pasta
cinnamon excellent for stabilizing blood sugar sprinkled on coffee, oatmeal and in shakes

These are a few suggestions and tips to incorporate more spices and herbs into your diet. They taste delicious and give you great health benefits.
