Ever Feel Like Eeyore (With a Rain Cloud Over Your Head)? Good News for Grumps

Pooh, take your honey and shove it! Ever feel like that? I'm normally pretty upbeat, but yesterday I was absolutely overcome with a wave of grumpiness--for no reason, really. I just felt blue. Good news for us grumps, though...

According to new research, being grumpy is, well, good for you!

Huh?

According to the BBC, Australian researchers say that being grumpy may help you think more clearly. That's right, if you're feeling miserable, they say, you may be better at decision making and less likely to be gullible.

Related: Here's how to look at disappointment in a different light...

From the article: "...[A] grumpy person can cope with more demanding situations than a happy one because of the way the brain promotes information processing strategies."

I really don't know if I buy this, at least on a personal level. When I'm feeling grumpy, it effects my thinking and judgment in a negative way. I've learned to never make an important decision when I'm feeling upset, emotional or grumpy. I always sleep on it, as they say, and wake up with a clearer head.

How about you? Do you get grumpy now and then? When's the last time you had an Eeyore day? Do you think that grumpiness helps you make good decisions?

See our tips: The little, easy thing that can boost your mood--right at your desk!

Sarah. Step Away from the children's books. You're a grown woman now, time to put on the big girl panties.

Sarah, I used to get grumpy all the time...all I needed was a negative trigger. Now I choose to be happy. I am much better off. I do not believe that being grumpy is good for you...I also think you should keep reading the children's books. ;-)

A.A.Milne's book about the inhabitants of the Hundred Acre wood are not just for children, vixenvena. Just like Exupery's Little Prince, A.A. Mile's creation contains such philosophy in it that children themselves do not understand.

And, it is OK to read childrens' books and be motivated to write from it.

It is also OK to be grumpy every now-and-then.

I was grumpy today and said the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Now I'm grumpier for not being in control of my tongue.

NO...I don't make better decisions when I am Eeyore!

Eeyore isn't grumpy; he's a little sad. I love Eeyore!

Groumy People push away many of those who want to run a congame espically salesman.

Be Grumpy with everyone until you know what they are and who they are. The too friendly and too happy need space let them have it walk away.
