Fidgeting my fat off. An unofficial study in weight loss.

We all know a person who can't keep their feet or legs still while they are sitting and talking to you.  They might wiggle around in their chair, twist their rings, twiddle their hair or any number of other unconscionable movements could surround this person.

Think of that fidgeting person you know.  Are they heavy?  Chances are, they actually have trouble gaining weight and it just might be all down to their simple fidgeting movements.

These little motions and movements that people make during their waking hours are secretly burning off hundreds of calories throughout their day.  Or so goes my unofficial theory.

Could it be that we all are missing the boat on losing weight and the answer lies so simply at our fingertips that could adjust a bracelet, nonstop, all day long?  Would it be wrong to fidget on purpose?

My constant battle with obesity is telling me that the answer can't just be to rock my legs back and forth when I'm stuck at my desk writing for hours.  But since I am the type of person who will try any diet at least once, I'm going to give it a go.

Starting today I am going to fidget for a month.  While watching television I will be moving my legs and arms.  While painting a picture I will move my shoulders up and down (though not while I'm working on a detail part of the painting) and most importantly, while at the computer for ages each day, I will raise and lower my heels, one after the other, like I have been doing since starting this article.

After my month I will report back to you with my unofficial opinion on the results of fidgeting away my fat.

During the month I will post various videos of the fidget in question, maybe we can all make a game out of it and see who can get the most creative with a little stealth fidgeting, after all, we don't want to call attention to ourselves.  Or do we?
