So, this is my first blog and I would like to take the time to talk about something very serious and dear to me.

And that is giving blood.

Giving blood is one of the most heroic things you can do in your life

You don't have to have money, you don't have to be a superstar. you can be you and still save lives

Blood knows no race, gender, monetary status or discriminates. And the summer time is the best time to get started. it is during these hot humid months that blood banks run low on much needed blood.

Be a hero

Unfortunately only 5% of the popluation that CAN donate do and donors are the ONLY source for blood

Anyone can give blood the only reqiurements are that you be at least 17 and weigh at least 110 pounds. And there is no risk to you! the whole process takes about an hour so...

Give back and give blood and give life!

I wish I could... and I used to give platelets... I am O neg. But because the FDA has a restriction on people that lived in Europe during the 80's and 90's I am ineligible to donate. However, I would every chance I could get if I were allowed to.

but don't give up just because you may not be able to give blood! let your friends and family know and you can always be a volunteer! you can head blood drives and give back to the community!
