HCG Diet Journal: Day One, Fat Loading and my first injection - number 5

Thursday November 26, 2009.  (Thanksgiving)
"Goodmorning!" weight: 211.8
Day 1

So my family is away for 6 days in California.  It turns out that this is a perfect opportunity to start this diet.  The first major hurdle will be sticking a needle into myself, but after the 'fat loading' stage is over, the next thing to contend with will be a grumpy Mommy Bear who isn't getting a whole lot of sustinance.  While the super-duper HCG mixture I will be self-injecting has promised to help eliminate feelings of hunger - I know that it's going to take a lot of discipline.

They will miss me eating, learning how to inject myself and the first (worst?) three days....

The basic plan is to eat for broke for two days and then turn over to a VERY strict and regimented diet of only 500 calories per day.  While that is a rediculously low number, the concept is is that the HCG will help jump-start the body to using stored fat and getting those hard to loose places (belly, love handles and saddle bags) to start DOING SOMETHING POSITIVE for a change (instead of just 'hanging around'!!!)

Downstairs, put out the dogs, start scheming about pizza and ice cream for breakfast (insanity!!) and get ready to sit down, to get ready to, well, dilly dally about the injection part.
I have a look at the needles - they are insulin injectors. Tiny needles, super-sharp and a way of life for anyone that needs daily insulin shots for thier diabetes.

The diet has you inject 6 days in a row, take a seventh day off of injecting (while maintaining your LCD - low calorie diet) and then start up again for 6 more days.  It is my plan to go through 4 cycles - roughly a month.  But for now, it needs to be my plan to make it though injection #1...
So I picked my 'poison' - washed my hands, super cleaned the area with an alchohol wipe, pinched an inch (or more, but hey, that's what I'm here about, right?) hesitated for a good minute or two, took a photo just for you guys, and then did as Nike recommends - I just did it.

It hurt a little going in, but nothing terrible.  The anticipation was FAR worse.  I didn't feel the liquid enter my body at all.  When I retracted the needle a little started to seep back out, but a minute of pressure stopped all leaks, HCG or blood.

Now, and hour or two later, I can't find the injection site at all (no mark, no blood, no bruise) and I am absolutley bursting at the gills from pizza, peanut butter and jelly croissants and two mugs of ice cream.  My kingdom for an alca-seltzer!

We're off!

I didn't have Thanksgiving dinner - (not a huge fan of turkey anyway!)Instead I had CPK BBQ pizza, ice cream, chips, PB & J's - ugh, you name it, I ate it.

Now we're on to the low-calorie part of the 'show' and it's the hardest to break the habit of just checking out the snacks!

I have three little ones and am always doling out something to eat - not I have to be really really good and not have anything myself.

Nice to meet you too GirlyGirl!
