Here I am with The Biggest Loser's trainer, Bob Harper; and last season’s runner up, Tara Costa, after the workout.
I LOVED it! I wasn’t expecting to break into a sweat, but that’s exactly what happened after 30 minutes of jumping, squatting, crunching, lunging and mountain-climbing. The work out was set at a moderate level, but my heart rate stayed up (I was wearing my monitor) and I felt quite challenged. Plus I was sore the next day!
The game is being released this fall. Here are some features I
really liked:
- It takes into account both fitness AND nutrition by offering
expert tips and recipes from The Biggest Loser Cookbook. I like the
holistic approach.
- You can workout with either Bob Harper or
Jillian Michaels, plus compete with a friend
- The moves are clearly demonstrated for people who aren’t so
coordinated, like myself! (As clear as a workout DVD, but way more
interactive...)
- The duration of an exercise or number of repetitions is clearly
indicated on the screen (I like knowing how many squats I have left
to do, especially if I feel like I’m dying!)
- The cheesy Biggest Loser score that plays in the background is
surprisingly motivating
This is a screen shot of Bob demonstrating a plank on his knees. Pretty clear, right?
What do you think? Would you try this new video game? How do you feel about working out with a gaming console in the first place? As for all you Biggest Loser fans, are you going to tune in to Season 8? It starts in a couple of weeks!
