JOIN THE DEBATE...H1N1 VACCINE.....IS IT FOR YOU?

Although I did recieve a regular flu shot this year I am wondering
if I should participate in recieving a H1N1 vaccine. I am a little
scared to be honest! There has been one confirmed case of Swine Flu
in a local elementary school in my area. I have never been
a believer in modern medicine and I just got a flu shot last
year for the first time. It did help prevent me from getting
extremely sick last year (I usually end up with a whopper of a cold
or flu in the fall or winter), but now I am feeling really
uncertain about this new vaccine. What are your thoughts? Did you
or are you getting it? Is it/has it been hard to find?

I look at it like this: H1N1 is killing people. I would rather risk getting the shot rather than getting the virus! I heard that by the time everyone will have it available to them- it will be too late. In fact in my State it is widespread. (Southern US). Very Scary stuff.

If it's required by law to take that, you have to,but actually, if there's none available for you in your plac e, you don't have to panic,JUst eat fruits and vegetables, to strengthen your imune system, have a good ventilation in your house, make sure the things we use are always clean, practice good, and sanitary hygeine all the time, and avoid crowded places that has no fresh air coming in and out,to avoid contamination. As much as possible take foods rich in vitamin C.We should not be scared of N1H1,it's just a flu,and it's just the media that scares people.

I dont get my shots and I always wind up sick during the fall and winter seasons. So maybe I should get my shots.

I have asthma and epilepsy. If I DON'T get the regular flu shot, I end up not being able to breathe, and going into convulsions!!
NOT being able to breathe is the worst feeling. Ended up in Emergency last year.
Going into seizures, because you can't keep the meds down is no fun either.
So I will be getting the flu and H1N1 shots.

NO I well probably WONT get the Swine Flu shot. Years ago I had gotten the Reg. Flu shot and got sick from it. So I have never again gotten any Flu shots and have been ok. Knock on wood. Any way most of my friends and family said they well NOT get the Swine Flu shot. Some others have gotten the Reg Flu shot, but well NOT get the Swine flu shot....Any way I too have a Post up on the Swine Flu...come by and check it out...Thanks . Xoxoxo Casy

The last time I took a flu vaccine was in 1997 -- I was deathly ill for 2 whole weeks. I've never taken one since and have never been that ill since either! I make sure to eat healthy and take vitamin D3 to keep my immune system strong. It works.

The swine flu vaccine is no different that the reg seasonal flu vaccine. How people react varies. Swine flu is killing people that already have chronic health problems ie, kidney disease, lung conditions, neurologic disorder (cystic fibrosis). This is the time of year ALOT of people get the flu. If you pcp will give it to you get some tamiflu, it may ease some worries.

I am a registered nurse and I and my family do not get the flu or pneumonia shots and we will not get the H1N1 shot either. We will take our chances and let God protect us or see us through it if we get it.
