Katie Holmes and Posh Spice's scary dieting club

I am officially worried about Katie Holmes.

Because the mail order bride thing and running the marathon then wearing heels that night thing? I just kind of shrugged.

But then I read this account of Posh and Katie's buddy system diet plan. I don't know, maybe it's me, but for some reason, I don't really see Posh Spice as bff material. You know what I do when I get together with my bff? We spend a lot of money shopping and then we go to In 'n' Out burger (and then usually there is vodka and dancing and things I can't print in this blog, but don't judge). I think if I suggested that we split an entrée of steamed fish and supplement by nibbling on dry lettuce, my bff would check for an empty pod next to my bed.

I know a lot of women who have a problem eating in front of people who make them insecure. I often joke that I'll never go to Hooters because the last thing I need is to try to eat high-calorie buffalo wings while staring at tiny women in even tinier outfits.

You can always count on science to provide a study on this phenomenon:

"In a nut shell "
Harrison said, "we found that, following exposure to ideal-body images, men who are insecure about their bodies eat more in front of other men, while women who are insecure about their bodies eat less in front of other women."

What do you think Posh would do if Katie busted out with a suggestion that they split a double-decker brownie hot fudge sundae? In my fantasy, when Posh is too stunned to speak, Mrs. Cruise shrugs and says, "OK, I'll just order it for myself and if you want some, you're welcome to dig in."

Do you think Posh would get up and leave? Or flag down the pappies to take pictures and dispel the rigid dieting rumors?

Note to Posh: This could be a PR coup. You can thank me later.

I have a BFF and ALL we do is laugh and smile and have fun!! It doesn't matter who is around. I would not want a friend ( especially a BFF ) that NEVER smiles, or laughs, or has fun. A person who is always concerned with thier looks is draining to be around. I feel bad for Mrs. Bekham because she is really cheating herslef out of the fun of life. We will all decompose the same when we are dead and it won't matter how good we looked in photos. I feel sad for her boys who are going to grow up thinking that women are arm ornaments who are meant to be gawked at and not enjoyed for thier humor and fun. What a lonely and sad way to live....

By the looks of Posh's eyes, she may have help. There is no way you can get that thin without.

These "celebrities' are all weight/image/body obsessed and who could blame them? As soon as they gain an ounce, they're in the "baby bump" listing. Being a size 4 is considered fat. Perfection is the goal, but it will always be out of range, because it doesn't exist.

I have absolutely no sympathy for any of them.. they are living the life they chose and if they all turn into anorexic skeletons, it won't affect me one bit.

I love your comment Kristen 1! I have always told myself that it doesn't matter what you weigh when you are dead in the ground. Posh really disgusts me. She's just out of touch with reality. Unfortunately, it will probably take something bad happening to make her come to her senses.

Posh seems to have that scary "I really want to eat a whole side of beef" look. Run Katie run!

I think Katie being with Tom(he's older than her)she matured too fast and having a friend like Victoria Becham who looks anorexic and never has a smile on her face it's just sad with all the money they have they don't seem happy.Maybe they should go to Africa-like other celebrities do-to wake up to the reality...

    Dear Posh,

Meth is a wonderful drug, isn't it??? And how smart of you to turn your friends on to it too! I was a meth user in order to maintain my stylish size 2 figure until I started having heart problems and almost died. But better to be thin and moody and skanky, than to be healthy, happy and actually have some meat on your bones, I always say! You go girl!!

There is nothiong attractive about posh. Katie is beautiful but needs to distant herself from someone who is intent on self-distruction. Pati

I agree with everyone's posts that Posh is scary thin and could use a real meal stat, but I don't think you should judge her so harshly just because she doesn't smile. You don't have to be grinning and peppy all the time to be a nice person. She doesn't smile for photographs because she thinks her smile is ugly, (I know this because I was a huge Spice Girls fan when I was in junior high and I had to know everything about them...don't judge me) that's all. It's not because she's mean or hates the world, she's just insecure about her smile. Everyone has something they worry about and for her, it's her smile.
