Meat: Why it's Wrong

1.
It's their life. Animals were on this earth long before the modern walking, talking Human. They deserve their own lives. They are not milk, meat, fur, leather, or egg factories just like we aren't. They should be able to chose what they want to do with their "supplies". They have a right to their body and to feeding their children. Taking that away is like taking away our milk away from our children. We shoudn't make them have babies and then take them away just because we want milk (seeing that cows must have children to create milk). No creature wishes to see her children slaughtered.

2.
Meat is unhealthy. Scientists have discovered that there are more than 50 million cases of meat-related foodborne illnesses every year in the US alone, thousands of which are deadly. Animals store dangerous chemicals in their flesh and fat, which meat-eaters eat, including dioxins, antibiotic, pesticides, hebicides, and even the most poisonous kind of arsenic. A USDA study discovered that 98% of broiler chickens' carcasses had detectable levels of E. coli, indicating fecal (droppings) contamination. Meat is void of fiber but is full of fat, which can cause heart disease.  "Swine and pigs have over a dozen parasites within them, such as tapeworms, flukes, worms, and trichinae. There is no safe temperature at which pork can be cooked to ensure that all these parasites, their cysts, and eggs will be killed."  "The trichinae worm of the swine is microscopically small, and once ingested can lodge itself in our intestines, muscles, spinal cord or the brain. This results in the disease trichinosis. The symptoms are sometimes lacking, but when present they are mistaken for other diseases, such as typhoid, arthritis, rheumatism, gastritis, MS, meningitis, gall bladder trouble, or acute alcoholism."  "The pig is so poisonous and filthy, that nature had to prepare him a sewer line or canal running down each leg with an outlet in the bottom of the foot. Out of this hole oozes pus and filth his body cannot pass into its system fast enough. Some of this pus gets into the meat of the pig."

Animals are intelligent creatures that may suprise you. Animals can feel pain, fear, happiness, and sadness just as much as a Human can. When scared out of their minds, they will shiver, scream, their hair would stand on end, and they would wet themselves just like any Human would. Animals are completely defenseless, as they are grown to become so fat, they cannot run, claw, kick, or bite back. Chickens in the wild build nests, nuzzle their young, dust-bathe, play, run, and lay eggs when they want to. Cows' spots are unique; just like fingerprints, no two cows have the same markings. Pigs can even be trained to play simple video games.

4.
Might Doesn't Make Right. Just because Humans are bigger and "smarter" that animals doesn't mean they are ours to hurt and kill. 'In our moral developement as a species,  we've  reached the point  where it's time to realize that other species deserve consideration, just as we finally recoginzed that slavery was wrong, that women deserved to vote, and that children should not be abused as a method of child-rearing." - Chew On This. Just because we can save money by brutally killing animals as though they were cabbages in need of chopping doesn't mean we should. Just because we can beat our pets, wives, husbands, and children doesn't mean we should. Just because we can murder other people doesn't mean we should. Just becuase we can bully others doesn't mean we should. Just because we can torture animals intil they die in their own blood doesn't mean we should.

All pf the facts point to one thing; going vegetarian or vegan is MUCH healthier than continuing to eat rotting corpses disguised as "meat". It saves the animals and puts a few more years on your life.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have been seeing so many more vegitarian/vegan posts in the past few years and it makes me so happy to see that the world isn't completely full of ignorant carnivores.

    Thanks:D

Why is it that some cultures that eat nothing but meat do fine then? Yes they exist. And if we aren't meant to eat meat then why do we have canine teeth (for example?). What's the difference if a chicken gets eaten by a coyote or a human - either way it dies. All that aside, I do think that humans rely too much on farm animals for food production but I happen to think that veganism is one of the most unnatural things - only in rich countries do people throw away or refuse to eat perfectly good food.
