Meet The Biggest Loser’s father-daughter fast foodies Jerry and Coleen (and see why sweating is so important for weight loss)

Coleen wants to be a bride someday, and she wants her father to be alive to walk her down the aisle. Watch this father/daughter team talk about the fierce family love that has motivated them to start living healthier and longer lives:

Listed below, past season stars share what it really takes to shed megapounds fast, and why the process is nothing short of life transforming. Here are strategies from The Biggest Loser that can inspire you to reach your own weight loss goal.

1. Do cardio you enjoy every day

"Before [the show began], I imagined we'd start with 20 minutes one day, maybe 40 minutes the next," laughs Isabeau Miller of season 4. "Ha!" They jumped right in, with cardio sessions lasting hours at a time. Should you do the same? No. Contestants are pushed to work out harder than average, but only because they are under the close supervision of trainers and a medical staff. Here's what you can do safely to reach your own fitness goal:

Shoot for 60 to 90 minutes of cardio a day And maintain a moderately intense level. (If you're over 50, have a chronic disease or are at risk for one, consult your doctor before starting any plan.)

2. Make sure you sweat.

You need to challenge yourself to get the weight loss results you want. If your routine feels comfortable, devote a few more minutes to each workout, or add hills and/or stairs to your regular walk.

How do you motivate yourself to lose weight? Have you ever challenged a family member to shape up? Share your insight below.

That was great!!! I love to exercise but I lose my motivation after a while. Right now I am keeping a food diary. This is suppose to help you in seeing what you eat ona daily basis through out the day.I also am doing zumba and other exercises. That zumba is what's happening...You get so sweaty and get so pumped up!!!I wish I could do it everyday. But I don't so that my body want get use to it too fast. later
