My Attempt at "Making the Cut"

About 1 month ago I was over at a friend's house for dinner. Over the course of our eating a yummy pasta with veggies and sausage, she began to tell me about this new program she was on to get back into shape. We are both ex-collegiate athletes, and, although neither of us has gained a significant amount of weight since finishing college sports, we have agreed on many occasions that it would be nice to get back into shape for confidence reasons. She had taken the plunge in order to get ready for a trip to Hawaii and was giving Jillian Michaels' "Making the Cut" program a try. For those of you who do not know, Jillian Michaels is a trainer on TV's "The Biggest Loser" and contained within "Making the Cut" (in book form) is both a diet and exercise program to help people who are in semi-good shape get into great shape, lose those last 20 lbs, get a sexy body, etc. So far, my friend had really liked the program. So, with her recommendation, I went out and got the book on Sunday.

In hopes of actually sticking with the program for the full 30 days, I am going to write about my experience on this here blog everyday. If people read it, great! If not, that is just fine too because this is mainly for me to keep me motivated and have some place to b---- when I just don't want to do it anymore (let's hope it doesn't come to that). If nothing else, I hope that someone can get a good laugh out of this even if it is just me looking back at the experience far into the future when I am fit again.

So here it goes! Let's see if I can make the cut!
