My Coworkers are LOSERS!!!

I work in a small department in a remote backwoods section of the Boondocks. I am something of an
"operator".  Since the operation of the place is 24/7 and we must have someone on at all times, there is a list of all the employees phone numbers listed in the office.

My gripe is that I am finding out that the majority of the coworkers have my number saved in their cell phones as if I gave this number to them. I find the whole thing creepy. I only call and text my coworkers from the job or out in the field with work related messages.

Just recently, the biggest of the losers in that place decided to send me one of those chain text messages with a blue flower, some music, and a love message. In order to pull off this prank, him and another coworker tricked a third coworker into hanging out with them so they could use his cell phone to pull off the prank.

Truth be told, I think the ring leader is obsessed with me. Two out of the three prankers is mad because I clearly had a "thing" for one of the other coworkers. I may not be the prettiest thing walking, but that does not mean I can't be selective. What bothers me is that our numbers are not on display at the job for anyone to add to there cell phone lists to make them look popular should someone happen to pick up their phone and go through it.

I had a close working relation with one of the prankers, but I'm putting an end to that. I have an ex coworker that I still keep in contact with from my previous job which was in a factory. My ex coworker and I exchanged numbers and decided to keep in touch. NONE of the numbers saved in my phone are from that employee call list because I don't want to socialize with any of them outside the office.

They may feel that I am strange, but I think they are all a bunch of weirdos with meaningless lives and nothing better to do with their time. This job gets on my nerves to no end and I cannot wait to leave. They all creep me out and I want to move as far away as possible.

I work for this place full time and go to school part time. I'm finishing my two year degree this year. I wanted to stay at my job while I go for my 4 year degree. These people are driving me crazy and I don't know how much more I can take. If you feel that your coworkers are as sick as mines, would you stay or would you go?

    My dear,

Your personal safety and mental health always, always comes firts. Money should never hold you to a job that is unsafe in any way.

Did you report this to your supervisor? Or is he your supervisor?

If so, that's more reason to leave. There are sexual harrassment laws.

Find your company's copy and post it somewhere allowed. You are between a rock and hard place right now. You need to slide on out of there and find a comfortable place to land. Lots of luck. I'll be keeping good thoughts for you.

Thanks Habanero. Sounds like you and me was ready to meet that dude at Shop Rite. I'd had my baseball bat ready. And thank you Mrs. B. I've been on several jobs and the sexual issue never go away. I'm 36DD (all natural) and single.

    Hi Shreky,

Sorry to hear you continually have problems in that area. One of my coworkers just had breast reduction surgery paid for by her insurance because she got her MD to document she had an aching back from the stress on her body. WOuld this be something you consider? I myself don't have those problems. Enough of others though!

Remember these kind of people are like bullies and are usually cowards and will run as fast as they can in the other direction if you stand up to them. Just make sure you have witnesses to the confrontation if you do that. It's never easy. You've probably handled it better than I would and are to be commended for that.

Hope you have a pleasant evening, dear.
