Here's his reasoning. These are small changes that could have big payoff. The colder the water, the more it revs up your metabolism. You burn more calories eating celery than it contains, plus it has a lot of water in it, to make you feel full. The walks will help with the stress (even if I walk in pain).
So how am I doing 5 days into this? Walking 3 days (even in pain from storms-- seems like Grandmas friend Arthur-itis may have set into the broken bone), soda very limited (2 days without any, 1 day with 3, one day with one), and I've bought and washed the celery (I plan to eat it today, but God I hate this stuff.)
So, BK, I'm not perfect, but I'm trying. And honestly, I've got to say, I am starting to feel some differences (now that the caffeine withdrawal headaches seem to be subsiding). This could be, as he predicted, small changes that I can live with. I've been cooking healthier and choosing healthier when we go out, too. After all, I don't want to undo the other work I've been doing. Knowing me as he does, he may have hit just the right notes to start me getting back on track!

Report AbuseWhen I changed my diet (now a vegetarian of 1.5 years) and started running again (my stress relieving hobby) I had to keep in mind the good old' saying "no pain, no gain". As the caffeine headaches come and go, think about the damage the caffeine is doing internally without you feeling a thing. Kind of scary!
