Oprah feels like a failure because she weighs 200 pounds

oprah-cover.jpg
The big news today is that Oprah has gained weight. Not just gained weight. She claims that she now weighs 200 pounds. She stands on the cover of her magazine, next to a thinner version of herself, looking at her former body apologetically, hiding in a freaking jogging suit, as though the approximation of workout wear lessens the blow.
"I'm embarrassed," she writes. "I can't believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I'm still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, 'How did I let this happen again?"' (Source)
I haven't read the whole article, only snippets leaked early to AP, but what I have read seems to amount to self-flagellation. She whimpers about not setting a good example, and uses the words "failure," "disappointing" and "fat cow."

What do you think about Oprah's vegan diet?

How sad is it that the richest woman in show business, arguably one of the most inspiring success stories for anyone who has ever tried to start something from nothing, is measuring her successes by the stupid number on a scale? How sad is it that an arbitrary number like "200" would be the knell of failure? And what kind of example is she setting now for people who are, say, 200 pounds or more, and now have just been told by Oprah that their weight is a "failure" or "disappointing."

Promise me something this week: you will not weigh yourself. Not even once. You are not the sum of your parts. You are not your fat ass. You are you. You are your accomplishments. You are the amazing friendships that you have built around you. You are amazing. And don't let Oprah tell you otherwise.

It's time to shut up already with the self hating!

The last photo I saw of her, she had to be more than 200! I don't agree with much of what she has to say or what she stands for. I think that she does influence a lot of people though. She needs to find a lifestyle that fits her, not a diet. The skinny picture on the magazine is digitally altered. She is big boned and there is no way that is real. She has always gained and lost. I am sure there are people that look up to her and are disappointed. On the flip side, it shows people that she is a real person with flaws.

Mooooooooooooo Wow Oprah have no shame your just like all the rest of the fatties in America. But make sure you buy Jeans that are 6 sizes to small and cram as much flesh you can in them. The jeans will not be proper unless your fat rolls

spill out of them. Good job keep it up! Just go get some anti depressants if you feel sad your fat and that will make everything better like the fat girl that comments "Men love me." American women will start becoming lesbians in the future since American men are repulsed by there large weights. It is okay because it is America and you have the right to do whatever you want to do no matter how repulsing it is. What are all you fat women doing now reading my comment? You wasting valuable precious time you could be spending at Baskin Robbins.

How can you have so much control over everything in your life, but no control or discipline over your own body, yet you are always quick to give advice, and have advisors and doctors, and cant help yourself!Oprah is a prime example of all that fame and fortune doesnt makes us happy or keep or have a good man! Although i must admit she can be glamorous in her pictures at any size!Makeup flawless, but even the pretty girls are messed up in one area or another! How can you be an example when you really are not one!PHONY JUST LIKE THOSE MEANINGLESS SHOWS YOU AIR EVERY WEEK THAT IS BORING WITH NO SUBSTANCE ,OR DEALING WITH REAL ISSUES!
