She shared her favorite recipe, and also a great tip --
1) She LOVED pizza before she went on the show, and she now eats this instead:
* 1 slice of ezekial bread
* 1/4 cup of low fat mozzarella cheese
* 1/4 cup of a simple marinara
* 1 slice of low sodium turkey
2) she works out 3-4 hours per day; she always drinks a protein smoothie AFTER she works out. that's great advice. I eat one for breakfast, but will now add protein powder to my water for after my workouts.

Report AbuseLove the Ezekiel bread, but if you want to make a lowfat pizza, here is what I suggest. I use the Flatouts Flatbread. They are high in fiber. I spread a spoonfull of sauce or use none at all and pack mine full of veggies, including onions, red or green bell peppers, mushrooms, and sundried tomatoes. I occasionally use olives, but they have more sodium and fat. I use 1/4 cup, maybe less, of low moisture part-skim mozzarella and spice it with crushed red pepper and basil. It tastes great! If I need meat on it, I use about 6 turkey pepperonis or use a little bit of extra lean ground beef. These pizzas taste great and keep you full! Each wrap only has 90 calories, so as long as you keep the cheese in moderation and use mostly veggies, you are getting a pizza for around 250 calories! Enjoy!

Report AbuseEven better...broil a portobello mushroom cap brushed with a bit of olive oil, and then top it with your marina sauce, a bit of mozzarella and whatever toppings you like and broil to melt the cheese. The mushroom "crust" is low in carbs and calories and tastes great!

Report AbuseMy favorite way to save calories is to use half an English muffin for the crust. Spread on sauce, mozzarella cheese and chopped really fine, mushrooms, which sub for the meat, then add finely chopped celery, green peppers and red onions. You can use chopped boiled egg whites as a meat sub or eggplant even. I saute the eggplant, after dusting it with just a little flour. It taste great chopped up and added to the top of the muffin or on it's own.

Report AbuseJJRanch, I use a protein powder from dymatize. It's called Elite Whey Protein Isolate from Dymatize Nutrition. I use the gourmet vanilla variety it has 114 calories per scoop with 1.5 g fat, 2 g carbs, and 24 g protein. It tastes great and I am very VERY picky about my protein powders. The best smoothies are made with a magic bullet, IMO. Put the powder in last and make sure you have enough liquid.

Report Abusefor protein shakes, i love Pro5 or Pro5 For Her (either is good, for her just has more soy for females, but both are good for females) or Muscle Milk Lite or even Myloplex (i think they even sell that one at Sam's Club. cheaper than a MuscleMax or NutriShop type store)
1 scoop with 8oz of water is al you need after a workout.
for a snack, you can use all milk or half water/half milk.
for a breakfast shake, use frozen berries and either water or milk, depending on your calorie intake.
just watch your sugar and calorie intake and its really yummy!
