sleepless in MI

I have trouble going to bed at a decent hour no matter how early I am up in the morning.  I never get to bed before 4 or 5 am and sometimes I am still awake past those times.
I have had my 4 yr. old grandson for the last 8 weeks and I have been getting more excercise and activity than I usually do when he isn't here.  At times I fall asleep watching tv early, but when I shut it off I am wide awake.  Even when I 'm sleepy and turn it off before I fall asleep watching it I can't sleep.
Nothing helps.
How can I get to bed at least by midnight and sleep at least 8 hours without waking up in that time?
I am at the age now where insomnia isn't healthy and I am tired all of the time.
I have no appetite either.

Have you tried any natural sleep aids? I use this one as it is a dissolving strip that melts in my mouth and in 15 minutes I'm alseep. You should try that for under $15.00 for a months supply:

Take care and don't wait as you could be falling asleep and getting the rest you need.

try cutting caffine if it is an issue. Then again it could just be that your life is turned upside down for the past 8 weeks. Have you tried reading in bed?
