User Post: Can we get Michelle Obama’s super sculpted arms? Yes, We Can!

Her sleek and well defined arms are definitely one of the First Lady’s best physical assets. She creates    quite a stir every time she bears her healthy biceps. Some may say that they are season/occasion-inappropriate and that they are unnecessarily distracting like on Tuesday’s First Presidential address to the Congress but few can deny the sheer perfection of their shape that cannot be missed even from afar. The fact that Michelle works out rigorously is no secret. It has been widely reported that she incorporates a 90 minute workout three times a week consisting of cross-training, a mix of strength and cardio exercises involving weights, the treadmill, the stair-stepper and/or a spin bike. Celebrity trainers swear that pushups and weights are the way to go for achieving those sexy arms. Health (http://living.health.com/2008/07/16/no-more-arm-jiggle/)  has published a few of those workouts that seem easy to incorporate into our daily routine.

Apart from the First Lady, celebrities like Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel are also known for their killer arms. I personally think that Jennifer Aniston, who has been looking particularly swell of late, has a great pair as well.

So why do I think it is a great look for everyday women?

  1. Toned arms are easier to achieve than washboard
abs and tight buns but can be just as sexy.
  2. Baring arms are a whole lot more professional looking than say baring cleavage in many situations. It’s harmless while being flirty at the same time.
  3. It’s flattering. It pulls the eye upwards towards the face and décolleté area which is the most attractive part of most women’s bodies. I believe it does the same for Michelle. Though Mrs. Obama is definitely very fit, she does have hips like a woman should and the buff arms manages to balance her out visually.
  4. Day to day chores involving lifting objects can provide us the necessary weight to build some tone and definition in our arms. A flat tummy might seem like a distant dream after pregnancy but buff arms could become a reality just from constantly holding the kids.

I walk two or three times a week. This tones my arms, thighs and hips. I would like more info on other methods of obtaining better shaped arms,I don't have a trainer or attend a gym.

I think Michelle is fabulous, real class! What a pleasant change in first ladies. Now, how about providing some upper arm exercises for those of us who are over 60. I always get the impression that there is an attitde toward aging women which says, "Honey, it is too late for you!" I donot believe so, but would like some guidance on how to build arm strength and maybe tone my upper arms. I know they will never look like Michelles but am sure they could look better.
