User Post: Healthy Summer Reading for Women of All Ages

For most, if not all of us, our kids are out of school for summer vacation. I don't know about you, but when school is out for my young people, my summer vacation begins! As a mom, I am no longer completely tied to their schedules and I can relax a bit. It is now that I have the opportunity to do some of the things I have neglected, like read a good book. Over the past two years I have been on a journey of self-reflection, renewal and healthy living. Here are some books that I have come across, either before my journey began, or along the way. I hope you will find them as useful and enlightening as I have. Enjoy your summer reading!

Sacred Pampering Principles: An African-American Woman's Guide to Self-Care and Inner Renewal, by Dabrena Jackson Gandy

20-Minute Retreats: Revive Your Spirits in Just Minutes a Day with Simple Self-Led Exercises, by Rachel Harris, Ph.D.

Dr. Ro's Ten Secrets to Livin' Healthy, by Rovenia M. Brock, Ph.D.

Prime Time: The African American Woman's Complete Guide to Midlife Health and Wellness, by Marilyn Hughes Gaston, M.D. and Gayle K. Porter, Psy.D.

If you can't find these titles in your local library or bookstore, try shopping online at Amazon.

I felt this article was timely for me. It is during this period that I seek out books to read. I will get these and begin my feasting. I hope they will be as enjoyable for me. Thank you for the suggestions.
