For most, if not all of us, our kids are out of school for
summer vacation. I don't know about you, but when school is out
for my young people, my summer vacation begins! As a mom, I am no
longer completely tied to their schedules and I can relax a bit. It
is now that I have the opportunity to do some of the things I have
neglected, like read a good book. Over the past two years I have
been on a journey of self-reflection, renewal and healthy living.
Here are some books that I have come across, either before my
journey began, or along the way. I hope you will find them as
useful and enlightening as I have. Enjoy your summer
reading!
Sacred Pampering Principles: An African-American Woman's Guide to Self-Care and Inner Renewal, by Dabrena Jackson Gandy
20-Minute Retreats: Revive Your Spirits in Just Minutes a Day with Simple Self-Led Exercises, by Rachel Harris, Ph.D.
Dr. Ro's Ten Secrets to Livin' Healthy, by Rovenia M. Brock, Ph.D.
Prime Time: The African American Woman's Complete Guide to Midlife Health and Wellness, by Marilyn Hughes Gaston, M.D. and Gayle K. Porter, Psy.D.
