My boyfriend was recently given this assignment in
his Writing 101 class. He asked me for some suggestions and it
really got my mind moving.
For about five minutes I chose what I decided was the selfish route
and said that I would change some decisions that I am not proud of
or did not turn out how I wanted in my own life. I thought for a
while about what I could change to somehow transform myself into a
billionaire. I have to be honest; I am not the richest person in
the world or my street for that matter, so yeah I could use some
extra cash.
I thought about how I could change one thing on a larger scale and
I realized that I was being selfish in just changing my own life. I
thought I would get rid of Cancer, Aids, or all diseases in one
shot. Then I thought about the commercial I saw about this little
boy in Africa who lost his mother and had to take care of three or
four of his younger brothers and sisters alone. The commercial
showed him starring at a picture of his mother and crying. It
brought instant tears to my eyes just thinking about it. Heck, I am
holding them back now. That made me realize that the one thing that
I would change would not be to bring that boys mother back. I know
he was sad, but death is inevitable and I know that. I
felt bad for him but I thought of something that might help more
than just him.
Instead, I would take the unknown out of death. That’s my answer.
If I could change anything, I would change the world into a place
that knows without any doubt what happens to us after death. We
would know if we do actually go somewhere else and are eventually
reunited with all of our loved ones. We would have less reason to
be sad when they pass away if that were true. No matter what the
answer was, I think it would have a very positive impact on the
world.
How about you, what would you change?

Report AbuseI f I had one thing to change, it would be to open the minds of believers in a god........god does not exist, and never will exist......It's just a belief in a fairy or Santa Claus all over again.....

Report AbuseI would rid the entire world of hunger. Most people in the U.S. don't really know what it is like to be truly hungry. Praise God for the people here that have posted comments on knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To know HIM is to truly know real peace.

Report AbuseI do know where I am going after death. Jesus is the way, read your bible you will learn very easily where we will go (by choice of course)after death. I will not get into details. My one wish seem to be overly used but I really mean it when I say it would be that all children of the world would be safe with loving parents and enough food, good water and shelter. What a day that that would be.

Report AbuseWow!! I had no idea what an uproar this would bring on when I posted it. As you can see by my answer, I am not a religious person and many of you posted answers saying that I just need to believe in god or I know what happens after death because the bible says so. I have read the bible cover to cover. I believe in the morals of the bible. Do right by people and what not and I try and live a good life based on my own standards.
That being said, no one knows what happens after death. As much as you proclaim it and say that the Bible says it. Have you ever died? Have you ever been to heaven? If so, do tell. I am all ears. I know the saying, "Ye of little faith"
I guess I am "of little faith". I don't buy into anything that can't be proven and that just makes me logical. If someone tried to sell you a car that runs on water, would you just buy it because that person said so or would you ask to see it work first? Just trying to make a point.
Anyhow, even if something really bad happened after death, I would want to know. It would make me appreciate my own life that much more. Who knows maybe we would all start living healthier and find ways to live longer.
I loved everyone’s comments. Sorry for the guy who lost his family and is lonely. It is nice to get some honest opinions and feedback. However, I am still sticking with my original answer.

Report AbuseI can tell you what happens after dealth...nothing. Life goes on for everyone else but you are dead. There is no heaven or hell. No God and no savior. You are gone. Get over it.
As for what I would change...I would change how animals are treated. Humans treat animals like we are supperior to them. Like we have some right to use them as test subjects, to be cruel to them, to injure them, etc. It is absolutely sickening. We should view animals the same as humans. We are no better then them. In fact, most of them time they are better then us. They don't hurt other on purpose.
