Walk it out / Barack it out: The "electioncise" playlist

Were you moved by our Barack Obama's victory speech last night? No...I mean really moved? Moved enough to get off of the couch, put down the champagne, throw on some yoga pants over your election wear and Yes We Can! it all the way around the block, track or level four on the treadmill?

Do you need a post-election fitness outlet like I do?

I feel like I need to put my feet to the pavement today to work out the remaining bits of nervous energy that built up over the course of the campaign and also take advantage of the adrenaline that's been surging since 10 p.m. last night.

If you are really that moved, then you clearly have to have the right playlist. And what better soundtrack for your electioncise than the president-elect's official campaign album, Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement?

I listened to it today and had my tennies tied by the third track. The music isn't enough to keep you Spinning at full resistance for an hour, but the compilation is great for walking, running or moderately paced cross-training.  Even though there are slower songs, they are laced with sound bites from Obama's speeches that are sure to keep you pushing on. It has Lionel Richie on it, people! Who can sit still when Lionel's playing?

The album's available on CD or to download for $19.99. If it's all a bit much for you, throw it in to your workout shuffle to mix things up at your own speed. Even after the Barack buzz has settled, an Obama-sampled song or two followed by Pink,Timbaland or Creed might keep your energy up for many walks and runs to come.

Please tell me you are kidding. Nausea and vomitting are not what I was looking to intersperse into my work-out's here in Iraq.

I will respectfully leave out the voice of the gentleman who accused me of doing nothing but blowing up innocent women and children.

The Creed-Pink mix is a great suggestion though. Thanks.
