We wish we'd written that: 4 ways to soothe yourself

I did a little binge blog-reading this weekend, catching up on all of my favorite writers that I haven't given nearly enough attention to in the last few weeks. As much as I love getting a daily dose of great posts, I also adore the surge of inspiration, laughs, and insights that come when I sit for a few hours scrolling back through their blogs.

Here are four fabulous posts that made me want to get healthier by scrubbing my skin soft, sipping away the sniffles, giving up stress, and staring at Bollywood stars (no, really, it's possible).

Self-care that's blissfully simple.  Susiej is one of my very favorite bloggers. She writes beautifully and reminds me of the woman on the next yoga mat over who reminds you gently to breathe, forgive, take it easy. Here, Susiej gives you easy recipes for body polish and moisturizer and instructions for being good to your winter skin that will have you sighing with relief before you even mix up the essential oils and other natural ingredients.

A sore throat soother that's healthy and safe for small children.  ParentHacks is a great site full of practical tips, and I loved this one in response to all the controversy about whether cold medicine is safe or even works. This delicious recipe for sore throat relief uses things you probably have in your fridge already -- honey and frozen blueberries, and lemon juice, milk or water to turn it into a smoothie.

Lent, stress, swimsuit season and the utterly irritating world of Wii Fit. The hilarious Susan Wagner of Friday Playdate spells out why the frustration of trying to stand on the Wii board is taking her mind off of everything else that's making her crazy.

And finally, some gratuituous fit celeb gawking. Thank goodness for Cat at Wishbone Clover who has enlightened us to Bollywood's version of Hugh Jackman (abs and all), plus adds in some weird Wiki-trivia that will give you a momentary reprieve from staring at these actors' obliques.
