7 tips for a more organized (and beautiful) kitchen

Metro Shelving Wide Five-Shelf Unit
  • When maximizing kitchen storage space, steal tricks from the pros. Metro shelving provides easy access to dishes and cookware and supports bottles that dispense favorite aperitifs. Hit up restaurant-supply stores for more ingenious storage solutions like a strip of hooks for hanging spoons and utensils.
  • Free up cupboard space with this an upbeat version of a pots-and-pans wall devised by Julia Child herself. Get step-by-step instructions for making your own peg-board here.
  • Keeping high-frequency items on open shelves to streamline meal preparation.
  • An easy-to-install Rev-a-Shelf custom system has compartments to keep your entire arsenal of cooking supplies in place. Everything stays out of sight, then slides out smoothly when needed.
    organizing inspirations
  • Create an instant pantry with a generous wall-mounted spice rack. Neatly labeled jars turn the storage solution into a pretty display. Or, stash herbs and seasonings inside a handy stove-adjacent drawer. (It beats reaching into high-up cabinets.) A narrow in-drawer rack leaves room for utensils and puts everything at arm's length but pleasantly concealed.
  • When there's a cozy little bed for every stick of silverware, no one ever reaches into a drawer and gets stabbed by an errant steak knife. For the ultimate in storage, you can buy treated silver cloth to line drawers.

Sure the silverware looked great BUT who has that much drawer space in their kitchen. I have a nice sized kitchen but if I used that many drawers I wouldn't have room for much else.

Seems to me the person who needs the most creative organizing is the one who has the least space in their kitchen. I could hardly find useful ideas in this article to help with that.

I liked the idea to get rid of cabinets and add cafe curtains, what an eclectic look that could be! ..But the picture of the silverware isn't really practical in my life. Kitchen users are really all about space maximizing as well as beauty, cleanliness and oh yeah..eating.
