If only I could really sew: pinwheel quilted coasters

I like to try sewing projects because I think (or am disillusioned) that someday, just someday, I might get the hang of it. My grandmother was an amazing seamstress and I sat by her as she made gorgeous outfits and blankets and anything she damn-well wanted to make. One would think I'd inherited her mad sewing skillz. Nope.

But I keep trying. And I've added this project to my list: pinwheel quilted coasters. Ellen over at The Long Thread makes it look too easy. But having made a quilt once, I know all too well that near-perfection is required when measuring and cutting those fabric blocks. Maybe she'll cut a sister a break and toss some up on an etsy shop.

No, I'm not turning into a Buddhist monk, giving away everything except the shirt on mine and my kids' backs. I've just come to my senses. If I own a lot less, life will become simpler. -Blond & Blithe
