Make Your Mark: A Vintage Blackboard Makes A Cottage Statement

I bet this was an old restaurant menu blackboard, the kind that greeted you in the entrance with the daily lunch specials. Today, these old easel blackboards are coveted decorative elements, used in bed and breakfast tea rooms, at wedding receptions and a great entertaining tool to help guide guests to the garden or patio.

This one was topcoated in a gorgeous shade of sage green that chipped away to old layers of pink paint. The blackboard was recently embellished with a swag of roses to enhance any note.

Mark this up as the personal note poster that will never be overlooked. Lovely addition to a room for your tween princess!

I just refinished it and listed it on eBay. It's inexpensive and you may see more of it by clicking the photo above. (Update: This item has sold and has been shipped to its new owner for use on a sun porch.)
