- I can eat my peanut butter cups at home and the only thing I'm hurting is my hips.
- My kids don't suffer from food allergies
- I have an open mind and a heart full of compassion
- I don't mind giving up something I enjoy to help others and set a good example
- There are more people out there who agree with what I've written above than there are selfish ones, thanks be to God!

Report AbuseYep! Nothing like a gratitude journal to help refocus your priorities. Charlie, how's life in Bonny Scotland? What's the weather like right now? I'm in the American midwest, in the flooded part, but thankfully, I live on high ground.

Report AbuseYou live in flooded midwest--- how about around you? Do you have power and groceries?Big town near you ok? Lord,I remember last hurricaine near us- power was out 11 days. If flooding gets worse, remember you have a friend in sunny(and hot) Florida. Just let me know, Angie

Report AbuseHow sweet, Angie! My family is personally fine, though. It's the farmers who are getting hit hard, about 5 miles from here. The Gateway Arch has water up past the first levels of the steps up from Lacledes Landing and the road below the Arch is under water. The town where they filmed Farmer Wants a Wife is about half under water now and they're frantically sandbagging today to save their water plant. There will be no fireworks under the Arch this year. Everything is being moved inland, toward Busch Stadium. We all survived in '93, just like you all do in the hurricanes. Mother nature can be a real angry woman who likes her way! We mere mortals must find ways to adapt. There are shelters and its cool to see how kids like my step son and his football buddies have gone to help on the sandbag lines. Things like this allow people to show their better sides as they come together for the common good. Of course, it's easy for me to look on the positive side, since I don't have to move my life to dry land!
