Serving Up Romantic Decor: With A Sideboard Buffet Featuring A Hand Painted Backsplash

Nothing serves up romance in a room better than hand painted antiques. This old server is loaded with vintage charm; not the least being the beribboned swag of roses centered with a wreath that nestles two happy birds. Servers have moved out of the dining room into kitchens, baths, bedrooms and even living rooms and entrances - used for e'thing from a changing table in the nursery to a potting table for an enclosed garden porch.

This one is a sure winner. ~ And as a server for entertaining, well, one would think it was designed to serve!

This was a piece that captured my imagination and was a joy to paint from beginning to end.
I hope someone will love it as much as I loved painting it.

Update: This item has been taken to Canton First Monday in Canton, Texas, known as the world's largest antique flea market.

"I believe in unabashed confidence, the self-assurance to just go with it and be prepared to make mistakes. This house is a melting pot of who I am, my eclectic madcap sense. I want people to walk in and think, 'This is a fun place that's not taking itself too seriously.' Sometimes I get it right, sometimes not—that's the joy of playing with clothes and interiors. When my style is too disciplined, that's when I get it wrong.” —designer Matthew Williamson, Domino magazine
