10 habits of highly successful women

These 10 habits of highly successful women range from maintaining your hormonal balance to letting go of the past -- and they will positively affect your mind, body, and soul.

First, check out this quotation from writer Anais Nin:

“Dreams pass into the reality of action. From the action stems the dream again; and this interdependence produces the highest form of living.”

Taking action is a crucial habit of successful women…and so is dreaming! Don't let go of your passions...

1. Maintain your hormonal balance. Are you moody, exhausted, irritable, or sad? Check your hormones. If they’re out of whack, you won't have the time or energy to be successful...you'll barely make it out of bed! Make sure you’re getting enough protein and vitamins, and decrease your refined sugars and carbohydrates.

2. Let go of perfectionism.
Strive to do your best, but let go of perfectionist tendencies. Accept that you’re doing the best you can -- and something doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful (or even effective). Letting go of perfectionism takes time and practice, but you'll be a much happier woman without it!

3. Forgive yourself for your mistakes. Successful women don’t obsess or feel guilty about past choices or failures. They make mistakes, move on, and apply what they’ve learned to new situations.

4. Avoid energy vampires. Do you feel drained or sad after spending time with a particular friend, coworker, or relative? Limit the time you spend with him or her. Note how you feel after visiting with a certain person; if you feel energized and happy, then you’re in good company. Choose your companions wisely.

5. Listen to your body. I heard Oprah Winfrey say this about 10 years ago: listen to what your body is telling you. Are you emotionally hungry or physically hungry? Feed yourself properly -- the way you need to be fed. Are you sad, furious, or depressed? Express your feelings verbally or in writing. Respect and follow your body’s cues.

If you are a female professional and you love your career and your life and your self, If you like to bathe and sleep and have great sex, if you like pretty clothes, and hot shoes, love to go to the spa and the sauna and like to have alot of spending money, I would seriously think long and think true before you either marry or even more importantly, have children. There are many, many very successful women who are also childless or have only one child.

Children are Gods blessing and are pure love and joy, but my advice is do everything you want to do before you have them..wait as long as possible...

    Like 150 years...LOL..no, I kid the kids..

Not really, but there it is. Does having kids make you a better person? Of course it does, but who cares?

Give me the marathon sex sessions of my youth.

    Please...LOLOLOL

Thats material things. I pose a question isn't life more than shoes or close. Your rising someone who could affect our future. Even if you think your children don't fill that negative energy they do. You need to change your out look for your children. Iknow they have inspired you to do atleast that. Find joy in your everyday task with them. I wish you love, peace , happiness. It would'nt hirt to pick up the bible to give yourself some depth!.

Phoenix, I liked your thoughts on this. I'm not married but do inspire to have a strong career. I think with marriage, it'd so hard to be successful when you're with someone who is only focused on his career and feels that you should compromise your goals and dreams. Compromise is the cornerstone of a good marriage and I think the woman is often expected to compromise more often than her male partner.

Well I just thought #5 about Oprah commenting on "hunger" is hysterical! Leave it up to her to overthink and over philosophize about anything having to do with her weight! And America actually buys into it! The rest are pretty good, but I would add this; That successful women exercise their minds on a regular basis and keep learning their entire lives.
