Bedroom decor for under $100!

The current economic situation may not lend itself to a whole room re-do, but with many major retailers slashing prices and introducing affordable new products, inexpensive, yet fabulous, décor is more available than ever. So we scoured our favorite sites in search of linens, accessories, and furniture all priced under $100, and we were amazed at what two figures could buy. Take a look at the fabulous finds—whether you choose just one stellar piece or a handful, you’ll have a stylish new sleeping space at price that won’t give you nightmares.

Darling Dhurrie

Add a little fashion to your floors with this simple, block-printed heavy woven cotton dhurrie from textile guru John Robshaw. With poppy flowers in deep teal, red, and brown, this rug will definitely punch-up a space. Plus, its 2-by-3 foot size is perfect to lie by the side of a subdued bed design.

Round Things Out

This curvy lamp is the perfect contrast to the hard right angles of your rectangular bed and dresser. It’s a bit sensual and oh-so-chic with its lovely blue-gray glass base, plus its dimmer switch makes it perfectly suited to the bedside table.

Make It Personal

Monograms definitely add a personal touch, but they can tend to look a little stuffy. This fresh pillow from Etsy is anything but traditional with its bold graphic patterns and modern initial decoration. Choose both the colored letter that suits you and your decor.

20x20 Monogrammed Pillow, $29; Etsy.com

Crisp and Clean Hamper

At just 12” x 12”, this compact hamper from Umbra is the perfect space-saver for cozy rooms. Two handles make lugging laundry easy, and when company calls, it scrunches flat for out-of-sight storage (though with an adorable dotted floral design in luscious chocolate brown, we might just keep it out anyway).

Crunch Can, $19; Umbra.com

Thank you for scouring the internet for ugly cheap things I can add to my apartment. I think I'd prefer a twister mat to the yucky color of that carpet.

"Cheap"? Really? You could find those things at wal mart for $20 and under and they'd be prettier.

Yuck! All of these things are ugly and I wouldn't have them in my home if you paid ME!

People who are seriously affected by the "current economic situation" are not going to pay $30 for one pillow. I'm financially stable (and I thank my lucky stars for it) and I'm STILL not going to pay $30 for one pillow.

I bought different, modern pillow cases for some couch pillows I already had off of etsy.com. They were about the same price and the made the world of difference in my living room! Luv etsy! You can find hand-made candles on the cheap. many other stuff too.

Etsy is great because you can arrange trades with other people, too. I've traded dishes and handmade goods tons of times.

People are spoiled. I go to goodwill, or find and old table on the side of the road..clean it up, paint it gloss black or aqua, anything bright....ya never know it was used. WHY in the world would anyone want to buy a lamp for $75 when I get the same lamp at a thrift store for $5 or less...rediculous. The ritzy rich people who can buy anything, think they got it made...until someday they have to give up their crap, for any number of reasons...

I saw a lamp *exactly* like that at Walmart last week for $17. They also had similiar ones in many different colors. I know, I bought a brass plated one, once again for $17.

Ohh, and you could make that pillow for about $5. And it would be simple.

Watch for people moving & throwing things out. I got a baker's rack. 2 cans of spray paint and it looked new. I used to live in a town where they had clean-up day 2x's a year, great finds.
