Our blogs/posts are oftentimes a reflection of our personality. Though, prevalent freedom of expression is seen all over Shine, we must still adhere to our common rules and traditional essence in writing.
Unity, coherence and emphasis: best guide to formulate an
article.
Below is just my own presentation of how I do my thing:
A. Keep it fresh. To make your writing truly sparkle, make the effort to think of new ways of saying things. A memorable new metaphor or simile will bring your readers swarming back for more, like mosquitoes targeting a bare arm at a pool party
B. Keep it simple. Trying to impress your readers with long, uncommon words will just turn off the majority of them.
C. Keep it short. Many writers think they are better writers because they write many words. Be ruthless in your editing.
D. Keep it alive. Active voice is preferred.
E.
Keep it understandable.
Communication relies on clarity, foreign words could be scary to
some readers who doesn’t bother flipping a page of the
dictionary.
Lastly, let me leave this favorite saying of mine: “Everyone can write, but not all can be writers”.
Our main objective in posting our write-ups is not for own
happiness, but the satisfaction of our readers... Truly one
satisfied reader is one achievement worth our effort!
