I'm a person who avoids conflict at all cost - just ask my husband, it drives him crazy. But now that I'm a Mom I find that when it comes to my son...don't mess with me.
On January 8, 2008 I placed an order for two pairs of shoes for my toddler son with MyShoeStore.com. On January 10th my credit card was charged. On March 12th I called to cancel the order because I still hadn't received the shoes and it was doubtful that if they did eventually arrive they'd still fit my son. Today is March 30th and I haven't received a refund.
So what is a mother to do? First she does what she should have done in the first place, check out the company on the Better Business Bureau website (www.bbb.org). Come to find out this is standard operating procedure for this company. I've filed a complaint with the BBB of New Hampshire. I've emailed a business story idea to the local news stations and newspapers. And of course, I'm posting a blog entry. Something I've never done before. It's liberating!
My advice for all the women out there, not just the Moms, life is too short to lose money AND not get the pair or pairs of shoes you ordered. DO NOT SHOP at MyShoeStore.com! And learn a lesson from me for free.
