College students in the workplace....

Many college aged kids are not the best employees, I'm discovering. We
have quite a few part-time students from the local universities and they have
terrible
work ethics. I'd rather have my 11-year old nephew working with me.
He'd get a heck of a lot more done and do a better job at what he did accomplish.
Most of my student employees are just here for the paycheck. They think
they should get to study or listen to their
IPOD's
or surf the net while on the company clock?? I'm amazed that they
actually think this is acceptable! One girl in particular gets pissed
at me on a regular basis because I insist that she put her cell phone
away for the FOUR (4) hours she's working WITH THE PUBLIC. If allowed, she has no
problem having a conversation with a friend while the customer waits
for her to finish. Simply amazing!
