Mayor Dorman is at it again, according to Melissa Watchers: he's posted a letter, apparently from the Federal Bureu of Investigation, proclaiming him a "victim" of "Internet Extortion". Typical Dorman, his opponents say: He has a history of using lawsuits and law enforcement as campaign tools in the past. But it's not only law enforcement he's manipulating- perhaps, more importantly, it's the press. There's a joke making the rounds in Melissa that the town has 1 1/2 newspapers.
"Out of his mouth straight onto the front page," as the saying goes. Apparently, it's not too far from the truth. Mathmatical analysis of occurances of Dormans name reveal that those instances have risen sharply as the Mayorial campaign has begun. "He's in the paper for buying girl scout seeds, for introducing a kid to a military guy- for saying Happy Birthday to an 80 year old- and now he's gone and declared May Child Safety Month. Anything to get on the front page. Last week, he wrote a letter to Channel 8 News protesting a story they did on him, like maybe he sued them and asked for damages but he didn't, it was just a "I'm mis-understood letter"- they put him on the front page."
"I don't believe in coincidence" someone said this past evening at a gathering of concerned citizens.
Still, a three-pronged attack (newspapers, internet, and personal appearances) seems a little much for politics in this small town of 3,214 located 30 miles, more or less, north of the sprawling Dallas-Ft.Worth Metroplex. Melissa is ideally located aside one of the busiest corridors into the area. It was only a few years ago that the city got "off the well", referring to the towns water source. The water supply, or more importantly, it's lack of a water supply, stymied the growth during a time highway boomtowns were springing up at every exit ramp. Mayor Dorman takes credit for solving the water problem by building a water tower storage tank- kind of akin to Dan Quayles claim to having invented the internet, say his opponents. More important, they say, is that Mayor Dorman formed a partnership with two other city leaders, bought the land- and sold it back to the city at a substantial profit. Although Mayor Dorman is quick to point out that he didn't profit from the specific piece of land he sold the city, it has raised questions concerning his ethics- or more importantly, say his detractors, the lack thereof.
Stay tuned as the story unfolds- and it's available right here, on EagleOne, Eye On America.

Report AbuseMan, this guy sounds like a real piece of work- but it's pretty typical for politicians. Someone needs to call the FBi and tell them about him posting that letter on his site- they won't like being used as an endorsement like that.

Report AbuseThanks for helping to expose the truth from those who have experienced damage by Dorman and those who are next in line to be hurt.
If a person in office damages you and does not allow you to speak, it must come out somewhere.
With the public corruption that roars through the political segment of Melissa there is not a chance for one to be heard.
Neighbors who believe all is ok with the city have their eyes closed to what is really going on. That is understandable.
You could not know what is going on at city hall when it is not you there. And what goes on behind closed doors.
There are too many coming forward who have threats made to them by a city hall individual. Employees and electives.
They all are directed to one individual. Wake up and realize that just because you did not know it happened, it still is true.
Mayor David Dorman is spiteful and will spend more of your tax dollars fighting someone than ever trying to work with them.
This may not be your case but it is others. You can talk all day of the good -no big deal. That is what is expected, not what is praised.
So do you sweep the bad under the rug and allow it to continue?

Report AbuseDorman & Son, got the boost at Tues Debate: Dorman had the buttons, signs and t-shirts going at meet the candidate which is illegal. No campaigning was allowed as a multi year mayor was told. All other candidates stayed in line on this issue.
JJ Chapa was told that he really does not run who comes and goes in the city. Harrassing young women is out of the question as the police showed him on Tuesday evening.

Report AbuseMayor David E.Dorman "forgot" after one “deal” of making over 698,000.00 on one land deal and the city getting screwed. Mayor statements, “week 1- I never made money, week 2.- I never made that much money, I mean I made like only over $350,000.00 only, week 3- I had to split all the money that I made three ways and I had to pay taxes like everybody else, so in reality I lost money. Week 4- I made so much money that I was able to give like $25,000.00-$50,000.00 to every organization in Collin County and I made a movie about it. .........And I had money left over to buy a bag of flower seeds for the girl scouts. Well, I forgot I didn't really buy the flower seeds, I lied again...they were donated by some little old lady and I wanted to take credit for it so I could get my picture in the paper again.”
Who else did he forget got paid off?

Report AbuseMelissa City Council has decided to cut their own throats by stepping as a group to endorse current Mayor David E Dorman.
Problem is that only 4 council members are shown and names listed. Last count show we are missing council members.
But Dorman states the council is backing him? Do we see a problem??
Another Dorman Lie already- the council is a whole not part.
Unethical to endorse as a whole.
By Dan Trott, Randy Kaiser, Stan Mercer, Bill Reynolds “hitching their wagon to a star”
or more likely “ hitching their name to a criminal” they have become co-defendants.
They were all along, but after the light has been shed and stepping to the forefront again to say “this is the man we will follow” there should be no doubt that they are willing to continue on the path of Dorman and Crime.
They would prefer to continue to be Dormans dog than step up to the plate for the best of the city.
Of course in history, we have court documentation the words at city hall ---for the best of the city we must hide everything so that no one finds out the TRUTH. It will ruin all of us if the truth is exposed. www.VoteDorman.info
Guess how many have heard that and willing to testify?
